Senior Civil Engineer

Job description

GMCE is located in Shepparton, Victoria and provides structural and civil design in multiple industries including construction, industrial, and environmental sectors.

Due to continued demand for our services and plans for future expansion we are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our business. 

The desired candidate will be required to undertake the design and delivery of a wide range of projects including subdivisions, industrial estates, car parks, community facilities, roads, drainage, sewer and water main works. 

As a Senior Engineer you will also be responsible for mentoring and overseeing less experienced Engineers and as the business grows you will have the opportunity to build a team to deliver civil design projects from concept to completion 

You will have the opportunity to develop and oversee operating processes, engineering and drafting personnel used to complete projects.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

The following qualifications and skills will be essential in conducting this role:

  • Civil Engineering Degree, recognised by Engineers Australia
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Civil design role, working for an Australian based Civil Engineering Design Consultancy or similar.
  • A strong understanding and experience in Civil Design, as well as Australian Standards- and construction practices
  • Experience in the operation of Civil Design Software including Civil Site Design, Civil 3D, AVT, AutoTurn, MUSIC or similar 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project and time management skills, ability to problem solve and manage multiple deadlines
  • Dedicated and professional

The following qualifications and skills will be advantageous:

  • Chartered Status
  • Membership of IEAust
  • Listed on the National Engineers Register (NER)

Junior Draftsperson

GMCE is located in Shepparton, Victoria and provides structural and civil design in multiple industries including construction, industrial and environmental sectors.

 

Due to continued demand for our services and plans for future expansion we are seeking a Cadet/Junior Structural Draftsperson to join our business. This is an entry level position suited for a person with a genuine desire and passion for building and construction and ready to start their drafting career. 

You will receive on job training and the opportunity to work with our team of Engineering and Drafting professionals to develop skills required to embark on your career in Building and Design.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

 

The following qualifications and skills will be essential in conducting this role:

  • Passion for engineering and technology with focus on construction
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Efficient use of Microsoft suite – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills
  • Strong time management skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Professional and Customer focused

 

The following qualifications and skills will be advantageous:

  • Exposure to Structural Drafting through completed/ongoing studies or relevant industry experience in a similar position.
  • Previous experience using Drafting software
